meet the therapists

  • Sarah harbin-coleman, LPC (she/her/Mx)

    Founder and Co-Owner

I passionately believe in the power of therapy as a form of social justice, and built this practice so therapists could work with people with whom they share lived experience. As a queer person, I use 25 years experience as an advocate, therapist, and member of LGBTQ+ communities to meet my clients from an inclusive perspective.

In addition to sexuality and gender, I specialize in executive function, radical self acceptance, and rejection sensitive dysphoria. I also work with poly and kink folx, the dechurched, and those with anxiety and OCD.

Defy the patriarchy. Protect trans* people.
    Queer joy is resistance.

  • Chandler Massengale, LCSW (They/She)

    Co-Owner

A social worker, therapist, and advocate, Chandler is known for wearing many hats. They began their career working with children and adolescents on the autism spectrum. This experience sparked a curiosity in understanding behavior and the individual strengths and needs that everyone has.

First and foremost, Chandler is committed to social justice, service, and integrity as a social worker.  She is a proud alumna of the College of Charleston, where she received her B.A. in Psychology in 2017, and Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!), where she received her master’s degree in Social Work in 2020. Chandler’s practice utilizes an eclectic therapy model with influences from the Systems Perspective and Acceptance and Commitment therapy in a sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, feminist, client-centered way. They work primarily within the intersection of neurodiversity and queerness.

  • Kris Hampton, LPCA (fae/faer)

I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and Art History, which informs my belief that it is our nature as humans to connect deeply with and to each other. As a Black genderqueer lesbian from the South, I understand the nuance of identity and how it affects the ways in which we move and show up in the world, especially for historically excluded individuals and communities.

With an open-mind, empathetic presence, and curiosity, I aim to aid clients in their pursuit of self-awareness and understanding of their internal resources. My client-focused approach allows our time together to be collaborative and empowering.

  • Anne Askins, LPCA (she/her)

I believe that clients who come to therapy are seeking answers that already lie within them. I like to see myself as a guide to help you find those answers. However, therapy can be hard work, so expect me to challenge and push you at times- and please, challenge and push me back! This is a collaborative process in which I will walk alongside you every step of the way. Suffering in this life is inevitable, but you don't have to go through it alone and, as you'll find out, it actually holds a lot of value. In the wise words of Thich Nhat Hanh, "suffering is a kind of mud to help the lotus flower of happiness grow. There can be no lotus flower without the mud."

  • Sarah Moody (she/her)

I am a graduate student at Capella University completing my degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am passionate about people and what they love the most, and I believe authenticity is key to successful relationships and personal satisfaction.

I believe the client and their needs should shape sessions and approaches, and am comfortable using various theories like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, feminist theory, queer theory, person-centered theory and more. I have lived in the Charleston area for more than ten years and care very deeply about marginalized identities in our unique cultural landscape.
